Grace to continue
When we are starting new things we all get excited, think of that time when you started high school, a new job, a new project or moved to a new place. The excitement that you had, but as time goes on the excitement can go away because of different things that we face on the way or maybe reversal of expectations.
Children of God can get very excited starting new things, be it a church, a bible study, a business or a project. We even get excited when we get someone born again but half way down the line we can face situations that can drain us then we decide to abort the whole process. Getting someone born again is exciting but shepherding them and helping them become strong Christians is something that requires persistence and commitment until the work is done.
We need to cry for God's grace to finish the work we have started. Each one of us need the spirit of a finisher to carry out every good work that we are called to do until the end. When God started creating the earth He didn't leave things half done but He made sure everything was done and the work was complete.
He also promised us that He will continue His work in us until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
The main reason why people leave things they have started halfway is the fear of failure and lake of patience. The bible says:
Ecclesiastes 7:8
Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride.
Its much better to fail knowing you have completed the work than to fail because you have chickened out. It doesn't matter the excitement you started with is no longer there, remember the reason why you started and let your imagination run wild with what God can do for you if you remain faithful until the end. Be patient with yourself, be patient with others and remain faithful until the end.
Remember it's not about perfection but progression!!!
Prayer
Dear Lord please forgive me for every work i couldn't finish because i aborted it half way. Today i pray that you give me the grace of completion and the spirit of a finisher to complete all the work that is undone and to be faithful until Christ comes. I bind every spirit of abortion, fear of the unknown and impatience. i choose to trust you in Jesus' name Amen.
Amen
